Misery by Stephen King is a psychological thriller that tells the story of novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car accident by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes. What begins as a seemingly kind gesture turns into a nightmare as Annie holds Paul captive, forcing him to rewrite his latest novel under her obsessive control. The novel explores obsession, captivity, and the thin line between admiration and madness.
